Norwegian Company at Bangkok Gems Fair

The 42nd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair opened yesterday September 11 2008 at the Impact Exhibition & Convention Center in Bangkok. Among the exhibitors is the Norwegian jewelry company A & C, who is hoping to find new distributors at the fair.
Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair has over 1.200 exhibitors from more than 35 countries. This makes the fair a dynamic place with good opportunities for conducting good business and networking.
This is also why the Norwegian company A & C from Lier has chosen to exhibit at the fair.
“I think it’s our sixth or seventh time here. We’re hoping to make agreements with new distributors – not just from Asia but from all over the world,” says concept manager and part owner Franz Titulaer.
A & C (Arts and Crafts) was founded in 1984 after Dutch Franz Titulaer and Norwegian Birgit Løitegaard met on a trip through Asia. During the 90ies the jewelry company expanded and in 2007 counted 20 stores in Norway.
In 2003 A & C started exporting jewelry internationally as well and is now represented in more than 20 countries around the world. Among many Asian stalls A & C has something different to offer at the fair.
“Our design is influenced from the Norwegian culture and nature. We have themes like “ice” and “stream”, which is part of where we’re from,” explains Franz Titulaer.
The last Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, which took place in March, had more than 35.000 visitors and delegates. On the first day of the five day fair the attendance seems promising.
“I was afraid that many visitors might decide not to come to Thailand because of the demonstrations. Therefore I’m glad to see that so many are here at the fair,” says Franz Titulaer.

Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair will continue until September 15 2008.
