Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe are going to give fans a chance to walk down memory lane when they take on one another in the “PTT Legends in Bangkok” on November 22. The historic exhibition match is the last leg of an Asian tour which includes Malaysia and Macau.
The event will also mark the official opening of the headquarters of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand (LTAT) which celebrates its 81st anniversary this year.
The match will be in best of three format (super tie-break in third set). Local stars Paradorn Srichaphan and Danai Udomchoke will then join the two stars in a doubles encounter.
Sweden’s Borg, 52, and American McEnroe, 49, were among the best ever players and shared 18 Grand Slam titles with Bjorn Borg winning 11.
They also starred in the memorable Wimbledon final in 1980 when Borg won in five gruelling sets.
Tickets at 1,000 and 2,000 baht will be on sale at Thai Ticket Major booths.
