800,000 More Photos With Rednano/Getty Tie-up

Singapore’s very own search engine, is collaborating with renowned American stock-image supplier Getty Images to boost its collection of Singapore-themed images.
Rednano.sg is the world’s first search engine that specialises in Singapore-specific search results, and is a joint venture between Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and Norwegian media group Schibsted ASA.
Seattle-based Getty Images is a leading stock-image provider, with an archive of 70 million still images and illustrations.
Each month, Getty serves up 3.2 billion thumbnails of photos and attracts 175 million page views and over four million unique visitors to its websites.
With the tie-up, rednano.sg’s already-impressive collection of Singapore-themed images – culled from SPH’s stable of newspapers – will be even better.
Rednano.sg is also working with home-grown party community portal, WhosGoing.sg, to boost its image bank.
The two separate collaborations will swell rednano.sg’s image collection by more than 800,000 Singapore-themed records.
Rednano.sg believes this will benefit users more than anyone else.Mr Paul Jansen, chief executive officer of Rednano, said: “Our users include readers looking for news, professionals doing research and students working on projects.
“By working with a reputable partner and leader in its field like Getty Images, Rednano gives users access to many more archived and current photos and images of Singapore.”
Ms Elsie Ng, sales director of Getty Images, said: “We are proud to be part of the rednano. sg project – the first of its kind in Singapore – plus this provides an additional channel for Getty Images to reach out to the Singapore market.”
