Denmark will provide 1.46 million Danish Kroner for the central province of Quang Nam to increase its environmental management capacity, the Danish Embassy here announced yesterday.
The project is part of a 20 million Danish Kroner scheme to raise capacity for environmental planning and management, within the framework of a Viet Nam-Denmark Development Co-operation in Environment (DCE) programme worth 250 million Danish Kroner.
The six-year programme, starting in 2005, is being implemented in Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Nghe An, Quang Nam and Ben Tre provinces.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Bao Anh, who is in charge of Quang Nam’s project, the fund will be used for reviewing the strategic environment assessment for local socio-economic development plans and personnel training in the field.
