Christine Eng from Sweden was happily surprised, when she visited Vietnam for the first time on New Year’s day. In the airport she was warmly welcomes and presented with beautiful garlands.
The first foreign visitors to Vietnam this year were welcomed with flowers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City, Tien Sa Port in Da Nang City, and Bai Chay Tourist Port in Quang Ninh Province on New Year’s Day.
Thousands of international visitors arrived in HCM City, a signal of a good year ahead for the tourism industry. The third arrival of 2009 came from Sweden with 130 guests arriving with the Thomas Cook tour company.
All the guests were received warmly with traditional music performances at a ceremony held by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city’s Tourism Association, and Viet Nam Airlines.
