Gert Nisted Møller Christensen Passed Away

Gert Nisted Møller Christensen, Executive Director of the Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce until this Friday, died suddenly on Saturday 31 January 2009.  Gert had been doing workout at the Landmark Hotel when he fell unconscious. Even though he was given first aid and rushed to the nearby Bumrungrad Hospital, he never gained consciousness. 
Gert had recently resigned his post and was looking very much forward to going back to Denmark with his wife Linda Jakobsen, Commercial Counsellor at the Royal Danish Embassy. Both the Danish Ambassador and Peter Romhild, President of the Danish Thai Chamber of Commerce, rushed to the hospital to offer their condolences and support. 
Gert was only 36 years old. He leaves behind his wife Linda, their little son and his 12 year old son from his previous marriage, who had just spent his Christmas vacation with him and Linda here in Thailand. 
“This was a very traumatic end to Gert’s great work at DTCC and time in Thailand, and for Linda and their very young child an unbelievably sad time,” Peter Romhild says. 
Gert Christensen came to Thailand from a position as advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs. The Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce was fortunate to be able to recruit him during his a Linda’s time in Thailand.
