Sweden Launches Writing Contest in Vietnam

Sweden invites anyone who can write in Vietnamese to participate in a writing contest with the theme of travelling. The contest called Mot Chuyen Di (A Journey) is being organised by the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam and the local newspaper The Thao And Van Hoa. It is one among several activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Sweden and Vietnam in 2009.
“The entries can be about a real or imaginary trip you have taken. They can be about an adventure, or an experience that made a strong impression. All we want is that you will share with us what you got from your journey,” said the head of the contest’s organisation board.
Entries should be in Vietnamese and under 1,200 words; an entry can be in any literary form such as a short story, diary entry, or prose.
All submissions should be mailed to the newspaper at 33 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi before April the 30th and the first prize is 860 dollars.
