Nokia Siemens Ensures Faster Internet in Indonesia

Nokia Siemens has helped the Indonesian telecom company Telkomsel increase its mobile phone speed by increasing Telkomsel’s socalled  high-speed downlink packet access throughput. To do this, Nokia has introduced a software with a flat architecture called Direct Tunnel.
Direct Tunnel is a software upgrade to the packet core network that simplifies the network and the data flow between the user and the Internet, Nokia Siemens Networks explains.
Ivan Purnama from Telkomsel states that the Direct Tunnel solution from Nokia Siemens Networks enables the company to streamline data flow and remove bottlenecks while scaling up network capacity. Telkomsel deployed Direct Tunnel in the greater Jakarta area, while the high-speed network wide rollout is underway and is expected to cover the whole island of Java.
