Denmark Once Again Defeated by the Philippines in Gender Equality

The Philippines has great success implementing gender equality, as the only Southeast Asian country the island state has made it to the top ten of the most equal countries on the world.
Just like last year Denmark, where several politicians often are referring to the country as ‘one of the world’s most equal’, is overtaken by the Philippines on Worlds Economic Forum’s annual list of countries with the smallest gender inequality.
The Southeast Asian country remains its position as number six in front of Denmark, which ranks seven – a rather disappointing position according to several Danish newspapers, especially since the neighbouring countries of Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland takes the top four placements.
