The 2004 Tsunami left both coastal areas and people in ruins, now a book on the people is being published. Danish Church Aid (DCA) is behind the book, which is full of personal stories from survivors from the Tsunami in 2004. These tales demonstrate more concretely how the secondary affected people perceived the interventions of DCA and its partners.
The book states, that the overall aim of the DCA Tsunami Programme was to enhance people’s capacity to mitigate the impact of the tsunami on their houses and their livelihoods, to strengthen their coping mechanisms through risk reduction and disaster preparedness training and to establish a platform of partner organisations with different core capacities and strengths.
