The Stock Exchange of Thailand dropped significantly on Thursday 15 October, Dagens Industri, the largest business newspaper in Sweden, reported on Thursday, linking the drop to the uncertainties related to the health of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.
The 81-year old monarch – deeply loved by the Thai people – has been hospitalized since 19 September with pneumonia. Although the palace has issued almost daily statements on his condition, they have not been very detailed, and no photos of him during his hospital stay have been released.
