Mærsk is Opening Headquarters in Singapore

From New Year the entire Maersk Ship Management headquarters will be located in Singapore. This has meant a farewell to 80 people at the oil and shipping giant’s headquarters in Copenhagen, says director of the Company A.P. Mills in Singapore Bjarne Foldager.
“It’s been an ongoing process where around 80 jobs have been moved from Esplanaden in Copenhagen to Singapore. And some of them are also moving to Manila in the Philippines, when their training is in place. Next year, in March, the operation of containerships and the entire crew will be relocated in Manila, “says Bjarne Foldager.
Labor is cheaper in Asia and AP Moller-Maersk is also interested in moving a part of the organization to a place where they in the future will recruit many sailors from.
“The whole idea is to make it as efficient and competitive as possible”, says Bjarne Foldager.
