Norwegian wanted for drug case arrested in Thailand

Thai police has arrested a 39-year Norwegian man wanted for a drug case in his native Norway.
     The arrest took place 26 November in Buriram northeastern Thailand where the man lived with his Thai wife and their two children.
     According to Khaosod newspaper did the man leave Norway for Thailand four years ago to escape a narcotics case against him. He was constructing a THB 2 million house in Buriram when police arrived.
     The police search revealed a fake Estonian passport while the man’s original Norwegian passport had a Thai visa that expired 3 March 2003. According to the newspaper did the man purchase his fake passport from a native Norwegian at THB 400 000. After the arrest, the 39-year old Norwegian was taken to a Pattaya jail for further investigation.
