Excess Luggage Back in China

Excess Luggage is once again back in China. Excess Luggage’s 2010 China tour looks to be among the most extensive ever undertaken by a jazz band in China.


 Excess Luggage is a unique Norwegian jazz trio with organ, piano and drums. They have won several Norwegian Grammy’s (Spellemannpris) for a range of different projects. In 2007, the band made success by playing at the Beijing Jazz Festival, the Time Arts Jazz Series, and touring in East China both in 2007, 2008 and 2009.


The band consists of Vigleik Storaas, one of Norway’s leading piano players. Steinar Nickelsen on organ was elected “Young Norwegian Jazzmusician of the year 2002 and Håkon Mjåset Johansen on drums is one of Norway’s most active and well-know drummers.

April 5, East Shore Live Jazz, Beijing
