The Danish animated feature film “Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms” will appear on screen four times in Vietnam, 2 times in Hanoi and 2 times in HCMC, during the two week long EU Film Festival which starts Friday the 14th of May.
Disco music will fill the movie theatre when the Danish animated feature film “Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms” appear on screen during the EU Film Festival organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.
The movie is about the earthworm Barry, who doesn’t find life easy at the bottom of the foodchain where little respect is shown. His life, however, is turned upside down after he hears an old disco-record and suddenly sees his destiny before him as the star of the world’s greatest discoband, Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms! Okay, he’s got no arms, no rhythm and no band. But as Barry says: “We’ll make it anyway!”
“Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms” is the third feature film directed by Thomas Borch Nielsen, who has managed to get Danish actors and stand-up comedians like Peter Frödin, Trine Dyrholm and Lars Hjortshøj to lend their voices to the characters in the movie.
Several film festivals around the world has screened the movie; among them the International Film Festival “Nueva Mirada” in Buenos Aires, Argentina where the movie not only opened the festival but also received great appraisal in the form of the “Golden Kite” for Best Animated Film for Children and the Children and Youth Jury Award to the Best Animated Film.
