Wind Industry Blows Blue Water to Shanghai

Blue Water has
been active in China for
many years and has had local representation by our own office in Qingdao since November 2003.
Blue Water Shipping China Ltd. is mainly involved in global reefer shipments
with our long-time agent Cargo Services handling general freight forwarding by
sea and air through its 28 offices in China.

Over the
last few years, we have seen a rapid development in the Chinese wind turbine
industry, and it is Blue Waters increased involvement in this field that led to the
decision to open an office in Pudong New District, Shanghai.

“Blue Water
Shanghai will be benefitting from Blue Water’s wide experience and broad
knowledge in wind turbine logistics as well as our worldwide expertise in
project solutions for the oil & gas industry”, they say in a press release.

The office
is staffed by experienced people – both Chinese and Danish – with special
expertise in loading, unloading, survey and project transportation. It will be
managed by Arne Iversen, who has a long-time background with Water from e.g.
the Middle East and most recently from Blue Water’s first office in China – in Qingdao.

Today, the
Chinese wind turbine industry is the worlds largest with more than 70
manufacturers and a large number of foreign companies having established
production in China.

Many of
these companies are now looking to export to neighbouring countries as well as
Europe, the USA,
South America etc. In this connection, Blue Water will be offering our
assistance based on expertise gained from many years of involvement in the
transportation and handling of wind turbines in Europe.
