The Royal Norwegian Consulate in Vientiane was officially opened recently, with a ceremony that included members from the Government and the diplomatic and consular community, in addition to representatives from international organizations.
The Norwegian Ambassador marked the occasion together with the Honorary Consul Mr. Henrik Schmith.
The Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam and Lao PDR was pleased to mark the occasion together with the Honorary Consul Mr. Henrik Schmith, and in his speech the Ambassador said that
“With the establishment of the consulate, Norway and Laos enter an new phase of diplomatic relations”.Areas of cooperation between Norway and Lao PDR include humanitarian disarmament and hydropower. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 12 November 1991.
