Vestas to Deliver 25 Turbines to Inner Mongolia

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won an order for 25 turbines with total capacity of 50 megawatts from China Datang Renewable Power for a project in Inner Mongolia in China, Vestas said.

The V80-2.0 MW turbines are scheduled to be delivered to the Dashuiboluo wind farm in Linxi, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in the third quarter of 2010, Vestas Wind Systems A/S said in a statement on Thursday.

Vestas did not disclose the value of the order.

The sale includes transport, installation and commissioning and a system that will allow the wind farm to be controlled in much the same way as a conventional power plant, Vestas said.

Datang is one of the largest and most ambitious players in China’s wind energy sector, Vestas said.

Vestas said it was the first wind turbine supplier to enter the Chinese market when it installed the first turbines in Shandong in 1986 and it has installed wind turbines in 13 Chinese provinces.
