Monday 28 June 2010, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark participated in a football tournament with Chinese children to kick off the “Take Charge: Change Your Lifestyle” project at the Nordic Lighthouse in Shanghai. Later, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark officially open a Danish design exhibition and speak at a Sino-Danish business conference together with the Danish Minister for Economy and Business Affairs and CEO’s from multinational Chinese corporations.
In connection with Crown Prince Frederik’s visit to the Shanghai World Expo on 28-29 June 2010, Denmark and the Yangpu District of Shanghai launched the joint project “Take Charge – Change Your Lifestyle” to promote healthy living and quality of life for the citizens of Shanghai.
The project quite literally be ‘kicked off’ by the Crown Prince, who started a football match between 2 local school-football teams of children aged 10-11 years. Besides taking part in the game, The Crown Prince and Danish Minister for Economy and Business Affairs, Mr. Brian Mikkelsen, also present the winning team with the tournament trophy.
Healthy lifestyle for both body and mind is a key element of Nordic lifestyle, and one of the main reasons why the citizens of Denmark are consistently surveyed to be “the happiest in the world”.
The project aims to promote the values of healthy lifestyle and quality of life to the citizens of Shanghai and every day in July, August and September, Shanghai citizens have the opportunity to participate in free-of-charge activities at the Nordic Lighthouse such as dancing classes, football, basketball, swimming lessons, kung fu, tai chi and much more.
