Business delegations to Vietnam and Brunei announced

Environment, IT & Telecom and Health Care are the main industries represented in the business delegations that will join King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia on their state visits to Vietnam 2 – 7 February and Brunei 7 – 9 February.
     The environmental delegation to Vietnam contain 12 companies and is led by Mr Krister Nilsson, State Secretary, Ministry of the Environment. A seminar on the theme “Developing a sustainable society” will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
     The Swedish IT & Telecom delegation to Vietnam does also feature 12 companies. Mr Jonas Bjelfvenstam, State Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Employment and Communications leads that group. A seminar on the theme “Creating a wireless society for all” is held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
     Swecare Foundation arranges a 6 companies’ health care delegation to Vietnam; they are led by Professor Jan Carlstedt Duke, Dean Research, Karolinska Institutet. A seminar will be held in Hanoi where a research cooperation agreement also will be signed during the visit.
     The Brunei delegation has 20 companies in it. They are led by Mr Ulf Dinkelspiel, Managing Director Swedish Trade Council, who also heads the Vietnam delegation.
     No seminars have yet been announced for Brunei. But there will be some business activites arranged there besides round table discussions and ministerial visits.
     Noticeable for Brunei is the participation of several representatives from the Swedish defence industry.
     And there is also some hope of attracting capital from the oil rich sultanate to Sweden as the Invest in Sweden Agency joins the Brunei bound delegation.
