Danish Volunteer Organisation Seeks Dental Assistants

In the Philippines dental problems is the most common reason to school absence as a frightening 97 percent of all six-year-old Philippine children have active caries.

In Vietnam and Cambodia the situation is somewhat similar.

The Danish humanitarian association Dental Health Without Borders (DHWB) is fighting to improve oral health in low-income countries and are planning to start up volunteer programs in the three countries mentioned above.

In that connection DHWB is now looking for dental clinic assistants. The Asian project is set to start in January 2011 and the programs normally last about two weeks.

The projects of the association are financed by members, sponsors, private donations, and in some cases with the support of DANIDA’s Mini Grants.
