2010 looks to become the hottest year on record worldwide. Irish Times says that following confirmation that global average temperatures for the first seven months of 2010 were the warmest since records began in 1880.
July was, according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the second warmest on record with an average temperature of 16.5 degrees over land and oceans. The warmest July ever was in 1998.
