Welfare models, collective bargaining, workers’ rights and occupational health and safety will be among the topics discussed when the Norwegian Minister of Labour, Ms. Hanne Bjurstrøm, visits China between the 27th of September and the 1st of October.
The visit to China includes both Beijing and Shanghai. In Beijing, the Minister will have meetings with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS). The aim behind the agreement is to share Norwegian knowledge on working environment and contribute to improve inspection and development of health, environment and safety in Chinese working life. The agreement is a part of Norway’s international strategy to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The tripartite conference in Shanghai focuses on methods of collective bargaining, labour relations and working life models in China and Norway. The conference, which will be held at the Norwegian pavilion at EXPO, will include representatives from MOHRSS, All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), China Enterprises Confederation (CEC) and their Norwegian counterparts the Ministry of Labour, The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) and The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO).
