Recently, the Royal Norwegian Embassy hosted the creation of a business council that will seek to enhance business relations between the Philippines and Norway. The formation meeting successfully instated an interim board that has been tasked to further develop the council.
The business council will act as an independent organization and facilitate the exchange of information on business conditions that affect both Norwegian and Philippine companies. The meeting was well attended and company representatives were positive to the formation of the council.
The interim board consists of members from various sectors reflecting the diverse Norwegian presence in the Philippines, which include maritime, energy, software, security services and agriculture. The council will open for membership registration in the near future and hopes to attract Norwegian companies and Philippine companies with Norwegian affiliations.
