Danfoss-Sanhua Can Double Your Air-con Savings

The effect of your air-conditioning can be doubled if it is installed with a unique device made by Danfoss-Sanhua. This device, a sort of “heart” for an air conditioner, is called a micro-channel heat interchanger, and it represents the latest in refrigeration technology.

“We are proud to say that our product is very advanced not only in China but all over the world,” said Zhao Yan, the administrative manager of the Danfoss-Sanhua (Hangzhou) Micro-channel Heat Interchanger Company.

Located in the Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area (HEDA), Danfoss-Sanhua was established in 2007. It is the first collaborative project between Sanhua, China and Danfoss, Denmark. The cooperation of the two companies is writing a new chapter in the history of energy-saving air conditioning.

Statistics show us the magic power of their products. “On even ground, by using the micro-channel heat interchanger, the device’s efficiency can be enhanced by at least 30%, the volume can be reduced by more than 30%, the weight can be reduced by approximately 50%, and more than 30% of the refrigerating fluid can be saved,” Zhao explained. He also revealed that the demand for their products still exceeds the supply, even though their products charge 10% more than similar products made by US companies.

Early in the year 2000, the U.S. began conducting research on micro-channel heat interchangers. Until 2004, the products were most popular in the U.S. market. Today, more and more supplies are being sold in Europe, the U.S. and Japan. It is appropriate and forward-looking for Danfoss-Sanhua to put effort into this research, because the world’s demand for energy-saving, environmentally friendly technology is growing every year. In August 2010, Danfoss-Sanhua settled an unsolved problem on micro-channel heat interchangers and released its own micro-channel evaporator for cold air-conditioning. The new products represent the most advanced technology and were supplied to the North American market.

Today, Danfoss-Sanhua is the only professional company providing research, development, and production of micro-channel heat interchangers in China, and it is also the second company that yields a regular supply for micro-channel heat interchangers worldwide. Its sales income for 2010 has reached 250 million. Up to Aug 31, 2010, Danfoss-Sanhua has already won 94 patents, 71 of which are patents of invention.

The managing authorities of Danfoss-Sanhua believe the strategic turn into clean energy and low-carbon technology is the main trend of the international economic and social community. Thus, Danfoss-Sanhua’s advantages in research and development will enable it to win in the world heat interchanger area. In recent years, the company has already invested RMB 23 million yuan in the establishment of a think tank and on professional research and development. Meanwhile, Danfoss-Sanhua cooperates intensely with universities at home and abroad, including the University of Maryland, University of Illinois in the U.S., Peking University, the Beijing University of Technology, and Shanghai Jiaotong University, among others.

People might ask, “Where can we buy air-conditioners that use the components made by Danfoss-Sanhua?” The answer would be “In the near future.” Today these products are mainly supplied to America, but in 3 to 5 years, half of the products would be supplied to Chinese consumers.
