Mr. Bjørn Blokhus, Consul General of Norway in Shanghai, went to Hangzhou to attend the opening ceremony of the new Hangzhou International Information Exchange Center (HiCenter) on the 30th of December 2010.
The HiCenter will become an important window of international publicity for the city of Hangzhou. It will cover tasks including reception of overseas media, holding press conferences, providing promotional materials and hosting cultural exchange events.
Mr. Blokhus want to get more familiar with the media in Shanghai and the surrounding regions, and he was very pleased with his trip. He was in good company at the opening, together with Zhang Ciyun, editor-in-chief of Shanghai Daily; Weng Weijun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee; and Lu Jianchu, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and director of the province’s Information Office.
