SAS gets representation in Vietnam

Miklos Puskas, Scandinavian Airlines System’s (SAS) Country Manager Vietnam, recently informed Scandinavian community in Vietnam that SAS had finally found a solution to the airline’s representation in the country.
“We yesterday signed a General Sales Agency Agreement with East Sea Travel & Air Service in Ho Chi Minh City, to represent Scandinavian Airlines in Vietnam starting latest 31 May 2004,” writes Miklos Puskas on April 28 to ScandMail-vn, the e-mail group for Scandinavians in Vietnam.
Miklos Puskas earlier informed the Scandinavian community that SAS had planned to close its office in Hanoi on April 1, 2004 unless the attempt to seek a viable business partner is successful.
East Sea Travel & Air Service has offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The company intends to maintain a dedicated SAS office in Hanoi. According to Miklos Puskas, SAS will also be provided with an area in the new partner’s office in Ho Chi Minh City in order to better serve the airline’s customers in the southern part of the country.
The SAS office in Hanoi will have to be placed in a new location, and SAS has already moved out of its old office in Hanoi Towers on April 29.
“Since the location has not yet been finalised, please allow us some weeks before providing you with contact details and further information,” Miklos Puskas writes, noting that SAS customers seeking assistance in Vietnam should in the meantime contact SAS office in Bangkok by e-mail [email protected], telephone +66 2645 8200 or fax +66 2665 2900.
“We appreciate your help in not contacting East Sea Travel & Air Service yet, as their office systems and procedures are not yet ready to serve our customers.”
