The Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs of the Norwegian Storting recently visited Cambodia. In Phnom Penh, the Committee held talks with the Commission on Education, Youth, Sport, Religious Affairs, Culture and Tourism of the Cambodian National Assembly, and paid a courtesy call on the President of the National Assembly, Mr. Heng Samrin.
The Committee also familiarized itself with the humanitarian work of various Norwegian NGOs active in Cambodia, and visited the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum.
In Siem Reap, the committee met with the Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap (APSARA), and visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat.
