On April 1st 1001 guests from the Norwegian business community and their contacts and clients sat down to a sumptuous seafood buffet containing 100 different dishes at the Raffles Convention Centre Ballroom.
Seafood specially flown in from Norway was skillfully prepared both by local and Norwegian master chefs. Geir Skeie, winner of the 2008 Bocuse d’Or, and Sam Leong, winner of Asian Cuisine Chef Award in 2009 and 2010, provided a culinary feast for the eyes as well as the stomach with their mouth watering dishes created especially for the occasion. The proceedings were overseen by Swissotel’s own chef Otto Wiebel.
The Business Association annual award was presented for the second time. This year’s worthy winner was the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The award recognizes an individual or a company who has demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing the business relations between Norway and Singapore. MPA’s Chief Executive, Lam Yi Yong, received the award on behalf of his organization.
The Seafood Dinner, now in its 12th year, is supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, and sponsored by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council and Scandinavian Airlines.
