Double daily flights On Bangkok – Jakarta Route

Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia, will increase flights on its Bangkok-Jakarta route to a double daily service starting 17 June 2011. The new flight will operate using the airline’s Boeing 737-800NG aircraft which features Garuda Indonesia’s ‘Nature’s Wing’ livery, signature interior and upgraded on-board services such as individual touch-screen LCD TVs with Audio-Video on Demand entertainment systems.


Garuda Indonesia currently operates a daily service from Bangkok to Jakarta which departs Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2.10pm, arriving in Jakarta at 5.35pm. The inbound flight departs Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 9.45am to arrive in Bangkok at 1.10pm. Effective 17 June, the new outbound flight will depart Bangkok at 5.10pm and arrive in Jakarta at 8.35pm. The inbound service will depart at 12.50pm, arriving in Bangkok at 4.15pm.


 “We’ve seen a continued surge in demand since the introduction of our daily service over a year ago, due to our convenient flight timings and network that allows passengers to make easy connections to other regional cities from Jakarta,” said Bambang Sunan, General Manager for Thailand, Myanmar, Laos & Cambodia, Garuda Indonesia.


 “Passenger travel to Jakarta continues to grow and with the additional flight, we will have the ability to better meet our customers’ needs,” added Sunan.


Passengers will also have the opportunity to enjoy the airline’s unique service concept known as the ‘Garuda Indonesia Experience’, which combines warm Indonesian hospitality with quality service that emphasizes on safety and comfort.


To celebrate the introduction of this additional service, Garuda Indonesia will be running a sale starting from today. Customers can take advantage of the attractive fares to plan vacations for the upcoming holidays. Destinations on offer include Jakarta as well as popular Indonesian cities such as Bali, Jogjakarta and Surabaya. Promotional fares range from THB8,000 to THB9,500, valid for travel from 17 June – 30 September.
