Danish Central Bank Governor Visits China

 Last week, governor Per Callesen of the Central Bank of Denmark visited China to have bilateral meetings with his Chinese counterpart and to attend the China Financial Summit 2011. 

 From the 16th to 18th May, governor Per Callesen of the Central Bank of Denmark visited Beijing for bilateral talks with his counterpart from the People’s Bank of China and met with Chinese top officials and scholars.


On 17th May, he had bilateral talks with Mrs. Jin Qi, Assistant Governor of the People’s Bank of China, where they exchanged views on economic and banking related issues. He also met with Mr. Liu Mingkang, Chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission, for talk about Danish and Chinese banking regulation.


The following day he met with Mr. Li Dongrong, Assistant Governor of the People’s Bank of China and Mr. Liu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission at the opening ceremony of the China Financial Summit 2011.


During his visit Per Callesen attended the China Financial Summit 2011 and delivered a speech on financial innovation and economic restructuring, analyzing the reasons and conclusions of the international economic crisis and measures in the post crisis age.


He also exchanged views with Chinese top scholars in comprehensive discussions on amongst other things fiscal policy, micro economy, the EU economy and Chinese SOEs.


The visit of Per Callesen further strengthens the bilateral economic partnership between Denmark and China.
