CSR High on the Agenda

More than 70 participants from Danish supported B2B/IPD projects in Vietnam were gathered in Hanoi to discuss challenges, show cases and exchange experiences within CSR

Ambassador John Nielsen opened the seminar by hightlighting the importance of CSR at the workplace and as a business case and mentioned that this years’s celebrations of the 40 years anniversary for Danish-Vietnamese diplomatic relations would highlight CSR as one of the main themes.


At the event, Mrs. Charlotte Laursen, Head of the Business Support Department in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made an update on Danida Business Partnerships followed by a B2B/IPD programme status by Mrs. Le Thanh Loan, Head of the B2B/IPD Programme at the Danish Embassy.


John Rockhold, Branch Director of Carl Bro Vietnam, gave a presentation on CSR implementation challenges and eSoftflow – a show case in CSR implementation – shared their experience on why CSR should be part of a business strategy. This session was followed by group discussions on practical CSR challenges and ideas for future CSR initiatives, which could be applied apart from the requirements from the B2B programme.


As one of the Vietnamese participants stated after the session: “Doing business nowsaday, we do not compete in product but mainly in personel resources, so CSR is the only way to keep good people to stay with our company”.
