The Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Carl Bildt, visited Singapore on 4-5 June.
He participated in a major international conference on security and defence policy in Asia, the Shangri-La Dialogue (IISS Asia Security Summit).
Foreign Minister Bildt had also bilateral meetings with Singapore’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shanmugam, and Minister of Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen.
During the meetings, the Ministers noted with appreciation the close and friendly relations between Sweden and Singapore in a number of areas, including trade, education and defence.
Ambassador Ingemar Dolfe hosted a dinner for Minister Bildt and members of the Swedish business community in Singapore.
