The Swedish government appointed Mr Jonas Hafström new ambassador to Thailand at the cabinet meeting on Thursday 10 June.
He will take up the new position this August. Jonas Hafström is currently head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs´consular department. He has previously served at Sweden’s embassies in Teheran and Washington.
Before joining the Ministry for Foreign Affairs did Jonas Hafström pursue a political career, he has for example been an adviser to Sweden’s former Prime Minister Carl Bildt in the 1990´s.
