DANIDA Supports PAR Process in Dak Lak

The Chairman of the Dak Lak People’s Committee Nguyen Van Lang and the Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy to Vietnam Bjarne Henneberg Sorensen signed on 13 June the Government Agreement on the project “Support to Public Administrative Reform (PAR) in Dak Lak phase 2” with the Danish support of DKK 15.7 million and the Vietnamese support of VND 3.7 billion for a duration of 4 years.
The support to PAR has an aim to support the provincial administration in its efforts to implement the Government’s PAR Strategy and the Provincial PAR Strategy. Specifically, the effective administrative structures in Dak Lak will be developed at lowest appropriate possible levels.
Through strengthening of administrative regime in Dak Lak, the project will contribute to the implementation of the Comprehensive Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy (CPRGS) in Vietnam in general and the socio-economic development in Dak Lak in particular, said Lang.
This is the first Danida supported project to be signed directly with the Provincial People’s Committee. This is a clear signal showing that the decentralization process is actively taking place in Vietnam, said Ambassador Sorensen.
