United Tractors enters agreement to sell Scania

Indonesian heavy equipment company PT United Tractors has signed an agreement with the Swedish vehicle manufacturer company Scania.
The deal, announced 8 June, gives United Tractors rights to sell Scania’s trucks and buses in Indonesia, an agreement which United Tractors believes will boost its sales.
Scania manufactures trucks above 24 tons. It is believed that the agreement will improve Scania’s opportunities to increase sales to Indonesia’s mining and forestry industries.
Local automotive concern PT Astra International has a 49 percent stake in United Tractors.
