Sea Saigon Shipping in new premises

On the 4th of June Mr. Jan Fabricius of Fabricius A/S and Mr. Mogens Poulsen of the Danish Embassy along with some 75 invited guests attended the opening of the new office premises of Sea Saigon Shipping Ltd. at 70 Pham Ngoc Trach St., District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
On the occasion, Mr. Fabricius expressed his sincere gratitude to the Danish Embassy for their support and assistance, without which Sea Saigon Shipping would not have come this far.
Sea Saigon Shipping was established in 2003 as a joint venture between state-owned Saigon Shipping Co. and Fabricius A/S and is currently engaged in shipowning, technical management and supervision, crewing, chartering/S&P and port agency.
Total staff now comprises approximately 120, of which 4 are Danish nationals. The fleet includes 5 multipurpose vessels, 17 river barges and two tugboats.
Sea Saigon Shipping is the only partly-foreign-owned company in Vietnam with a permit for domestic transportation of cargoes.
“We have plans to capitalize on our unique situation in the marketplace by combining our heritage of high technical and educational standards with the low cost of labour in Vietnam and will be able to offer a very attractive product to shipowners,” says Henrik Andersen, General Manager of Sea Saigon Shipping.
“Other plans include river and coastal transportation of containers and cargoes and maybe even a connection to Pnom Penh in neighbouring Cambodia via the Mekong river,” he adds.
