New Sino Danish network connecting talents

Recently Denmark launches the first ever Sino-Danish Network connecting talented Chinese students and professionals directly to Danish universities and Danish companies in China.

The demand for Chinese talent in Danish universities and companies is increasing. However it is hard to get access to the right talent. Through cooperation with Danish companies and universities, the target with Sino-Danish Network is to create a platform for the companies to recruit among the future talent pool of Chinese profiles, and to give Chinese students and professionals a place to make themselves visible directly to Danish universities and companies.

Sino-Danish Network furthermore will act as the platform for gathering the first ever Sino-Danish Alumni connecting people around China with experience from Denmark or Danish companies. The Danish Ambassador to China welcomes the initiative:

Many Chinese already have relationships with Denmark either from working in a Danish company or simply by interest. Others are studying in Denmark or are alumni from Danish educational institutions. As important ‘ambassadors’ of Denmark we want to better connect with these “Sino-Danes” in order to get a mutually inspiring network and community with exchanges in a range of fields, including professionally, culturally and socially. I’m delighted, that with the Sino-Danish Network we now have a forum for gathering and developing this network,” says Friis Arne Petersen, Ambassador of Denmark to China.

is the first initiative of a Top Talent Programme – run by Innovation Center Denmark, Shanghai, one of the Danish diplomatic missions in China – aiming to attract Chinese talent to study at Danish universities and/or pursue a career with Danish companies. This first initiative of the Top Talent Programme will be followed up in October by kicking off a campaign at specially selected Chinese universities promoting selected study programmes and Danish universities and in 2012 with a Career Caravan with Danish universities and companies.

The unique feature about the programme is that the network is established in close cooperation with the following Danish companies: Arla Foods, Carlsberg, Chr. Hansen, Danfoss, Grundfos and Maersk. Companies who are all expanding their presence in China. They will provide the network with open vacancies for Chinese students and professionals, and they are eager to get the network started:

Sino-Danish Network and the Top Talent Programme can fill a historic vacuum to bridge the dynamic human talent in China with professional and cultural training entities in Denmark. For Chr. Hansen joining the key work is “bridge” by allowing us to more efficiently attract China talent to match specific project/job opportunities in our company,” says Christian Overgaard, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa Chr. Hansen A/S, Global Sales.

To promote the website, Sino-Danish Network is also entering two of China’s most popular social media with a Sina Weibo and Renren profile.
