SWEA Singapore to host regional meeting in October

The Swedish Women’s Educational Association Internation, Singapore (SWEA Singapore) is hosting SWEA’s regional meeting for Asia on October 6-9 this year. The meeting will be followed by an optional one-week after-trip to Malaysia, where participants will among others join Swedish women in Malaysia in celebrating the inauguration of SWEA in Kuala Lumpur.
The programme is packed with many interesting activities, kicking off on October 6 evening with a poolside gathering at Goodwood Park Hotel, where delicious buffet dinner and wines will be prepared.
The second day will feature a guided city tour introducing participants to the many charms of Singapore, which include the shopping district of Padang, the China Town, Little India, a taste of English High Tea, and an exciting experience of a night safari at Singapore Zoo.
October 8 is the conference day, which is an optional session. Participants who do not wish to take part in the conference may opt to shop till they drop, explore the island state on their own, or join a guided tour to Singapore Botanical Garden. All will, however, get together again for dinner at Singapore’s East Coasts classic restaurant, Jumbo Seafood.
The last day will take everybody on a bus tour to explore the ‘peranakan’ or Chinese-Malay culture in Katong. In the evening, the participants will go to Long Bar at Raffles Hotel and give a try on Singapore Sling before moving to Singapore River and Boat Quay for a farewell dinner at IndoChine restaurant.
Registration deadline for the regional meeting among visiting participants has recently been extended to August 20. Participants who live in Singapore have a later dateline of September 3, and can choose to register for only some of the sessions.
