A young Norwegian tourist was found dead in his room at Baan Pornpateep rooming house on Taweewong Road, Patong on June 11.
Thomas Andreassen, 21, attached a rope to the shower head in the bathroom and hung himself after his heart was broken by his Thai girlfriend. Near the body, a letter was found stating that he was depressed about his girlfriend leaving him and decided to take his life.
The body is in Patong Hospital and the Norwegian Embassy has been informed of the incidence, where they arranged for his parents to come from Norway and collect the body.
