Seafood Gala Dinner 2011

Recently the Royal Norwegian Embassy hosted the annual Seafood Gala Dinner 2011. The gala dinner which has become an annual highlight for the Norwegian and Malaysian business community was an astonishing evening with delicious food from The Flying Culinary Circus and engaging entertainment by violinist and singer Alexander Rybak.

The main focus of the evening was of course the spectacular seafood buffet prepared by The Flying Culinary Circus, a well known team of Norwegian chefs. The buffet had everything from smoked Norwegian salmon to monkfish masala, and it was even possible to taste some “made-on-the-spot” nitrogenous ice cream.

The Ambassador-Designate to Malaysia, H. E. Terje Theodor Nervik, welcomed the guests to the dinner by highlighting the increasing collaboration between Malaysia and Norway. He was followed by the Flying Culinary Circus that gave an energising performance when introducing the food.

After the delicate food was consumed, it was time for the Malaysia Norway Innovation Award, where BASS was awarded the title. After the award was handed out, Alexander Rybak, former Eurovision Song Contest winner stepped on stage. Rybak gave the guests a breathtaking experience toppled with his megahit “Fairytale”.

Concluded by a charity draw, where the price was a Home Makeover valued at RM 10 000 – sponsored by Jotun – the guests seemed satisfied. Hopefully the event was successful for everyone participating.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur would like to thank the participants and sponsors for contributing to making the Gala Dinner the great event that it is.
