SSS Golf Cup Trophy Re-instated

The SSS Golf Cup was re-instated in the Scandinavian Society Siam’s Golf Section on Saturday 10 December 2011 after the trophy has been lost between two recipients. A new trophy was donated to the Golf Section and introduced with a few words by Board Member Flemming Winther Nielsen, who is also the Editor of the Scandinavian Bulletin.


The Scandinavian Society Siam also took the opportunity to support the Section financially with 25.000 baht for its brilliant work in arranging tournaments almost on a weekly basis for the members.


The tournament took place at Thana City Golf & Sports Club and was a special flood relief charity tournament in the lights of the flooding tragedy, that had hit Thailand. The proceeds of the tournament went to an non government charity to help people that have been hit by the floods.


SSS and BSA together with a few other sponsors supported the idea and the charity. At the prize ceremony, the good cause was introduced by Leo Alexandersen, who also was among the winners of the tournament.


Apart from the winners, there were a shower of gifts from various sponsors in a lucky draw among the players.


The prize ceremony to place on the Cub House Terrace overlooking the golf course and was preceded by a delicious barbecue dinner.
