Colours of Life Exhibition

An exhibition of colours will be taking place at the Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur during the Chinese New Year period, from 5 January 2011 to 6 February 2012, with a solo exhibition by Charlotte Donvang.

The exhibition is called “Colours of Life” and according to Charlotte, it is to exhibit celebration of life, art and colour.

“The event will showcase many different facets of life and there will be a lot of exciting activities all connected with life, art and culture so it also covers the Chinese New Year,” she said in an email.

Charlotte mentioned that she is working closely with the hotel management about making this a spectacular event with talks, various demonstrations, updated happenings included and that is only some of the activities mentioned that will be happened throughout the month.

“I am really excited about this and I hope that you will attend many of these events,” she said excitedly in the email.

It actually started off with Charlotte’s paintings being part of the hotel’s Christmas event for their VIP customers and now it is now taking the form of a mini festival.

Charlotte said that to her, colour is energy, and energy is life. The title, ‘Colours of Life” quickly became obvious to her that while showing different aspects of life through her, she could do that through associated events as well.

“I believe that art should be available to all walks of life and not only hang in exclusive galleries. That is why I am so happy to work with Equatoria where many will walk past my art and receive a little of the colour energy that I am here to give,” she said.

‘I believe that more people will be touched by my art in a hotel than in a gallery,’ she added.

Charlotte will personally be conducting two sessions. To find out more about the exhibition, visit

Charlotte asks anyone who wishes to be there at the opening party of the exhibition but did not receive an invitation to let her know so she could send out proper invitations.
