Nokia has signed big contracts with Chinese companies

Finnish Nokia has on 7 November signed contracts with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom at China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The contracts are worth a combined value of more than EUR 2 billion, according to Nokia.

“We are excited to continue our close collaboration with these important customers in China, to drive new levels of network performance as they transition toward 5G,” Mike Wang, president of Nokia Shanghai Bell said.

Under the agreements, Nokia will deploy technologies and services to improve performance in fixed and mobile broadband networks across China to meet growing demand as operators transition towards 5G.

Nokia is a Finnish multinational telecommunications, information technology, and consumer electronics company, founded in 1865. In 2017, Nokia employed approximately 102,000 people across over 100 countries and did business in more than 130 countries.
