New Norwegian Ambassador to Indonesia presented credentials to ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh at its Jakarta-based headquarters on February 18.
At the reception for Norwegian Ambassador, Stig Ingemar Traavik, Minh asked Norway to continue supporting ASEAN in its integration, narrowing the development gap among member nations, boosting human and energy resources as well as sharing experience in conciliation.
For his part, Traavik expressed his wish to enhance a closer and more practical cooperation between Norway and ASEAN, informing Minh of his country’s intention to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC).
Ambassador Traavik and Secretary General Minh also addressed the latest regional developments, including the situation in the South-China sea.
