Astounding Finnish Christmas Party

The Thai-Finnish Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) held its annual Pre-Christmas Party 2012’ at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld on December 6th.

Although the venue had to be moved indoors due to weather conditions early in the day, the venue was still a huge success with approx. 140 guests which shows that the event continues to grow each year.

The event was presided over by the Master of Ceremonies, Marc Spiegel, President of the TFCC.

There were several dignitaries in attendance including the TFCC Patron, Finnish Ambassador, Sirpa Maenpaa; and one of Thailand’s newest Ambassadors, Dr. Vitezslav Grepl from the Czech Republic. Ambassador Grepl has previously studied Finnish and was posted in Finland for several years. The boards warmly welcome him and his wife into the Finnish community in Bangkok.

This year TFCC had fantastic authentic Finnish cuisine from Centara’s newest Finnish Chef, Mikko Kataja!

They had an amazing magic show for all the children and the adults were just as mystified. There were also clowns providing animal balloons and face-painting for the kids too.

Santa made his long journey from Finland bringing much Christmas cheer and gifts for all of the children.

There was even a surprise dance exposition from some of the Thai kids strutting their stuff to PSY’s Gangnam Style.

For all of the adults there was an extensive array of gifts won during the lucky draw, which was run by TFCC’s Director, Kai Tuorila.
Thanks to the two main sponsors of the evening, Finlandia and Tiger Beer for the free-flow of beverages, which lasted all night.
