Danish Ambassador to Vietnam and Laos visits Laos

H.E. Mr Kim Højlund Christensen, the Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam and Laos and the representative from MASCOT Laos.

H.E. Mr Kim Højlund Christensen, the Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam and Laos made a visit to Laos from 13-14 February 2019.

On Wednesday 13th, the first day of the visit, the Ambassador paid a visit to MASCOT Laos to learn more about Mascot Lao’s challenges and experiences in the Laos market.

MASCOT Laos has opened its branch in Laos since 2013 as a fourth subsidiary of MASCOT International A/S in South East Asia.

With 750 employees and standard working conditions such as fair salaries and a access to medical clinic and factory canteen at no cost, makes MASCOT Laos becomes “a good example of Danish quality investment in developing countries” wrote Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam.

On the next day, the Ambassador met with H.E. Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

At the meeting, Mr. Siphandone and Mr. Christensen exchanged their aims and requirements in order to expand bilateral relations toward the area of trade and investment, between the two countries.

According to the Embassy’s Facebook page, the Deputy Prime Minister gave a warm welcome to the Ambassador by congratulation him on “taking up the position of non-resident Ambassador of Denmark to Laos”.

Moreover, Mr. Siphandone revealed his belief on the Ambassador’s ability to contribute the strength on the partnership between Laos and Denmark during his term of office.
