On Christmas Eve, 24 December 2015 the Embassy of Denmark China made the following announcement, in a service message for Danish citizens:
“The Danish Embassy in Beijing has received information on possible threats against Westerners in Sanlitun area in Beijing around December 25. Danes in the area are encouraged to take extra care.”
Other countries including Australia, Great Britain and the U.S also issued Christmas security warnings for westerners in Beijing’s popular Sanlitun diplomatic and entertainment district as Chinese police stepped up patrols, reported many international media.
There was no statement from the Chinese government.
