Danish Embassy in Manila discusses press freedom with IMS – International Media Support

The Danish Embassy in Manila recently met with International Media Support (IMS) and key stakeholders from the media, civil society, private sector, and diplomatic representatives to discuss efforts to promote press freedom and support independent journalism.

According to the embassy, the meeting focused on protecting journalists, ensuring sustainable financing for independent media, and strengthening collaboration across sectors. The discussions highlighted that press freedom cannot be achieved in isolation but requires a collective effort.

The embassy emphasized its commitment to continuing these conversations, stating that a free press is essential to democracy and that its protection is a shared responsibility.
