The day started with beautiful weather but as the afternoon was coming to a close, storm weather came in and many players finished in the rain.
As this was the end of the season there were many prizes available for the seasonal champions.
The putting competition became a battle of nerves. Erik Dahlstrom finally won it after narrowly losing it last year. Carsten Andersen came 2nd – only one put was the difference that decided the entire season. Kristian Wensell came 3rd only 0.2 putts per round behind.
The MVP had already been won by Bjarne Kjersner whom continued his form. He amazingly picked up points in every event of the season. He had his “worst” performance of the season – “only” placing 6th. Congrats to Bjarne for a fantastic season. He beat his closest rival by 24 points. Kenneth Hovmoller took second place followed by Juha Saarinen and Erik Dahlstrom.
Bjarne can now enjoy a nice trip to Six Senses Yao Noi thanks to his amazing season.
The Danish Golf Day A group was won by Carsten Andersen whom had an amazing 42 points. He was 7 points ahead of Kristian Wensell whom came second and Marko Unhola whom came third. The A group combined for 9 birdies.
The B group was won by Amfinn Groven on 40 points, closely shadowed by Ake Malm at 39 and Erik Dahlstrom at 38.
Fourth place was a tie on 36 points between Christer Holmvall and John Andersson. Something quite unique happened when this flight had 3 birdies on the same hole.
The C group was won by Cholada Chankaew followed by Sverre Haug, and the guest/CC group winner was Jan Larsen whom also managed 3 birdies on his own.
The golf was followed by a great BBQ dinner at Thana City where the prizes for the season and tournament were handed out.
The new season starts in late August. Preliminary schedule will be on www.zabaigolf.com but put these two dates in your calendars already now as they will most likely be our first two events of the year – August 30th and September 13th. Also dont forget to sign up for the SSS Crayfish party which will be at the Rembrandt hotel on the 20th of September.
